Story
Max, sadly, had the misfortune of his Human dad passing away, so after them being together for 11.5 years, he didn't cope well with the loss, at all. He started to become unpredictable and crabby with his senior Human mom, so she felt it was best to rehome him.
There is nothing medically wrong with Max to cause his unpredictability towards Humans: simply, losing his daddy changed Max. Our vets have determined Max is unadoptable, so since Max shouldn't have to lose his life, we are sending him to a sanctuary where he can live his life out peacefully with other senior dogs, trot around and play as he wishes, roll in the grass, smell the fresh air, and be around experienced caretakers who understand his personality and needs.
Enrollment at the sanctuary is $3500 and they will care for him for the rest of his life. Boarding, then transport out will be around $1000. We have another “cranky” dog with the sanctuary, already (Duke has been there for a few years), and we work with them on shelter pulls and transports in their area, so as we have done with Duke, we will continue to stay in touch and monitor Max’s needs and health, and assist, when needed.
