Tzedek believes that no one, regardless of their race or religion, should live in extreme poverty. Founded on Jewish values, Tzedek works with partners, projects and communities abroad, providing direct support to help local people help themselves. In the UK, we seek to raise awareness, educate and encourage Jews to recognise, understand and act on their Jewish responsibilities concerning extreme poverty around the world.

Story

Quality education is a human right for everyone and it is changing millions of lives by breaking the cycle of poverty. Sadly, many children in some of the poorest regions of the world cannot afford to go to school or have to walk for miles each day to get there.

Schlep to School is simple. Walk to school one morning in solidarity with children around the world who do not have access to quality education. In doing so, you can raise awareness and vital funds that will help Tzedek support some of the poorest communities in Ghana and India. During lockdown, you can even do this from home! Just check out our Schlep 2021 Flyer to learn how.

Tzedek works in Northern Ghana and in four States in India within education, youth development and livelihood opportunities. Your Schlep to School Fundraiser will help Tzedek empower people to lift themselves, their families and their communities out of poverty, one step at a time.
