Schlep to School 2020

Organised by Tzedek

Schlep to School challenges you and your friends to ditch the Oyster, skip your lift and walk to school for just one morning of the year, in solidarity with children in the developing world who must walk miles each day just to go to school.

Tzedek believes that no one, regardless of their race or religion, should live in extreme poverty. Founded on Jewish values, Tzedek works with partners, projects and communities abroad, providing direct support to help local people help themselves. In the UK, we seek to raise awareness, educate and encourage Jews to recognise, understand and act on their Jewish responsibilities concerning extreme poverty around the world.

Story

Education is a human right for everyone and it is changing the lives of millions of children who know that it is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Take part in Schlep to School to walk in solidarity with students around the world who walk over an hour to school each day, often of treacherous terrain, an empty stomach and ill-fitting or broken shoes, if any at all. Raise awareness and vital funds that will enable children in Ghana to get access to a good education and break the cycle of poverty for themselves, their family and thier community.
