Story
Since the start of the year, School in a Bag have been working in collaboration with the Hope and Justice Foundation to fund and distribute SchoolBags sourced in Egypt for displaced Palestinian children and families now residing Cairo.
In total, 800 SchoolBags have already been distributed in three separate consignments within learning centres that have received an influx of children and women who have fled Gaza because of the conflict. Centres such as the Taabu Club offer a new lifeline for displaced families:
“Taabu Club is a movement rooted in connection and possibility. We create spaces for women and children displaced by conflict to rediscover their strength, reclaim their stories, and move forward. Through thoughtfully crafted programs, children tap back into their natural energy and spark, while mothers find practical tools to rebuild their lives. We work for a world where no one is defined by what they’ve been through—a place where people can let go of the past, reclaim their identity, and create something new.”
For children, education and play are at the heart of this movement and the SchoolBags along with their contents provide vital resources to assist in the crafted programs. The Hope and Justice Foundation are on the ground in Cairo and have witnessed first-hand the growing need for more SchoolBags since the distribution of our first 800 SchoolBags.
They have expressed a need for a further 3,500 SchoolBags. Please help us if you can.
