London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 · 12 April 2026 ·

We aim to raise the aspirations of young people through sporting excellence, personal development and vocational / academic achievement. We wish to change the lives of disadvantaged and disengaged young people through sport by building self-belief, achieving success and shaping a person's future.

Story

As part of the foundation's fundraising plans for 2026, five dedicated runners (#TeamSCL, see below) will tackle the famous London Landmarks Half Marathon on the 12th April in aid of Sport Changes Life - running not just for the challenge, but for the people and communities across Northern Ireland whose lives can be transformed through connection, mentorship, and the power of sport. Our runners for 2026 are:

Lynda Brudenell - Forge Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic

William Wilson - William Wilson Chartered Accountants

Paul Martin - Mammoth Design

Gareth Brown - SCL Ambassador / Zeus Packaging

Alan Teggart - CEO Sport Changes Life

Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Sport Changes Life aims to raise aspirations through sport‑led intervention programmes across the full depth of our local communities; from schools where pupils find their confidence, to disadvantaged youth navigating difficult life circumstances, to older adults seeking connection, activity, and belonging.

Our work is delivered by our professional team of Sport Mentors, who bring energy, empathy, and expertise into:

Schools and Education

Raising aspirations, supporting education and employment pathways, improving well‑being, building relationships, and giving young people trusted role models.

Wider Community Initiatives

Providing safe, inclusive, sport‑based activities that help individuals make better informed decisions and build resilience, skills, and positive relationships that strengthen divided communities.

Older adult engagement

Reducing social isolation, building meaningful social connections, and helping older adults stay mentally and physically active — improving quality of life and well‑being.

Your support empowers our Sport Mentors to reach more people, in more places, at moments in their lives when timely intervention and encouragement matter most.

Every mile run and every pound raised directly fuels programmes that creates opportunities for people of all ages across Northern Ireland.
