Story
Following the UK Home Office's decision to deny access to two disabled musicians to take part in a two week cultural exchange with Paragon Music, the project had to be cancelled, losing the charity thousands of pounds in flights, accommodation, artists' fees, venue hire and transport.
The programme was designed to address the barriers faced by disabled people when trying to participate in cultural activities, so the views and experiences of the two musicians were absolutely crucial to the two week programme. They were part of a group of six people from Devasitham Charitable Foundation in Chennai, who were due to arrive on 15th June 2019.
We are delighted that, thanks to pressure from all of our fantastic supporters and friends and the media, the decision has now been overturned and all 6 people from Devasitham Charitable Foundation have had their visas approved and are now able to travel to Scotland!
HOWEVER, we STILL need the funding to make this project go ahead! Please contribute anything you can to MAKE IT HAPPEN.
We are hoping to reschedule the two week exchange for Autumn 2019 when we will welcome our Indian friends with some very warm Scottish hospitality!
THANK YOU!
