Strathearn Arts is a multi-disciplinary community owned arts centre in Crieff. Its charitable mission is to serve the people of Crieff and the surrounding area of Strathearn with high-quality programmes of music, theatre, visual arts, dance, comedy, literature and cinema.

Story

Help us bring a high definition cinema experience to Crieff!

The really good news is that Screen Scotland has awarded Strathearn Arts a substantial grant of £24,570 to support the purchase of a new projector, retractable screen, satellite receiver and related items to take our cinema experience into a whole different dimension. This will mean better image quality for all films, improving the overall viewing experience from good to great.

On top of that, it will also allow Strathearn Arts to offer live-screening events for the first time in Crieffs history. Imagine being able to watch the Royal Shakespeare Company live on stage from Stratford upon Avon, opera from New Yorks Metropolitan Opera House, or a concert from the Royal Albert Hall, without leaving Strathearn!

Not only will our existing audiences benefit from better image quality when they enjoy films at Strathearn Arts, we will now be able to offer additional, live-screening events from all over the world which will allow us to appeal to wider and more diverse audiences. Angela Lennon, Arts Programme Coordinator.

The reality is close at hand, but this is where we need your help. To qualify for the funding from Screen Scotland, they require us to raise a proportion of the total project costs ourselves. This leaves us with a shortfall of £3,500 to make this happen. Our aim is to get the equipment installed in the autumn so we could all be enjoying this new cinema experience in the next few months.

Whether youre a film fan or would love to see top-quality productions live-streamed to your doorstep, give what you can to help us get this in the can.
