Story

Please help us improve the safety net for any of our school families experiencing financial hardship in these unprecedented times

We have always allocated a portion of the annual budget for emergency bursaries. We call this a Continuation Bursary and its specific purpose is to support families who face sudden, unimagined financial difficulties which leave them unable to meet the school fees. It is a short-term solution designed to give the family affected some time to navigate the storm. Unfortunately, the annual nature of the current provision occasionally fails pupils whose families apply after the fund has been used for that academic year.

A number of our families have already offered to pay full fees despite the discounted fee structure in place whilst pupils remain off site. We are very much in debt to their understanding that other families may be worse affected by COVID-19, and other challenges, than they have been. These generous donations will launch a new Bursary Hardship Fund, that operates independently of the main school budget, as a top-up facility to ensure all deserving applications can receive the help they need.

Now, we reach out to our wider community, our alumni, to ask for your support to strengthen this provision further. Your support, at the level you can afford, will help us care for of all our precious pupils whose SCS education may be at risk through no fault of their own.

Every donation counts, there are many of us and a large fund can be easily raised by the sum of smaller contributions.

About the charity
