Story
Dr. Butikofer and the Department of Science and Mathematics at Upper Iowa University are raising funds to enhance the new CHEM 337: Biochemical Techniques laboratory course. This innovative course gives students hands-on experience with cutting-edge biochemical methods while contributing to authentic, ongoing research.
One of the exciting types of research focuses involves isolating and analyzing proteins from the otoliths of freshwater fishes, a project that requires additional SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis) rigs and gel casting equipment to expand student participation and ensure every learner has access to high-quality tools.
Every dollar raised directly supports our students, empowering them to gain real-world lab experience, develop essential research skills, and foster a deeper understanding of biochemistry.
Join us in supporting the future of science—your contribution makes a difference!
Many thanks to Josie K. and her Team Peacock supporters for their donations.
