Sea Cadets offers exciting group opportunities to young people on and off the water, helping to boost their confidence and self-belief. Boys and girls aged between 10 and 18 are supported by volunteers where-by they can enjoy other activities from formal classes covering seamanship and navigation to more adventurous events like rock-climbing or practical experience such as catering, while earning nationally-recognised qualifications.

The Royal Navy also offers additional adventurous opportunities , such as sailing on one of the Tall Ships, which are subsidized to bring these opportunities to most families .
