London Marathon 2025

Super Seb is running the 2025 London Marathon (27th April) to raise funds for Home-Start Winchester and Districts. It's our 20th year and there's no better gift than to have someone like Seb to support us and the young families we help.

We support parents with young families who, for whatever reason, are struggling to parent. By offering dedicated, trained volunteers to offer emotional and practical face-to-face support, we can help break the cycle of loneliness and despair. This also keeps children from entering the care system and so, keeps families safely together. Most parents can probably remember that feeling of sometimes being overwhelmed. If they are lucky, they will have found a way through it with the support of family and friends. We are that friend to parents – when no one else is. Sometimes its taking time to listen, sometimes its playing with the children to allow the parent to rest or relax. Other times it offering guidance or an introduction to a like-minded community of peers and Home-Start organised activities. To enable us to do this work we rely on donations, sponsorship, fundraising activities and our amazing volunteers. Every penny counts and makes a real difference to help us change lives forever.

Story

Seb is one of the lucky few to have secured a place in the 2025 London Marathon (27th April). So it’s the perfect opportunity to continue his support of Home-Start Winchester and Districts and run his first marathon, for us and the families we support in local communities in and around Winchester. Including families in Eastleigh, Alresford, Bishop’s Sutton, Bramdean, the Candover Valley, Bishopstoke, Chandlers Ford, Colden Common, Crawley, Kings Somborne, Otterbourne, Owslebury, Sparsholt, Sutton Scotney and Twyford.

Seb ran a half marathon in 2019 (his first) to raise funds and awareness for the life-changing work we do, supporting struggling young families. And so, following a six-year break - he's now (nearly) up for the full distance.

If you live in or around the area please look out for Seb over the next few dark winter months. He’ll be running through streets and parks as he follows his training journey. Your financial and moral support is just what is needed for our vital life-changing work.
