Marathon des Sables – Morocco | 24 January
120 kilometres. Four days. One purpose.
In January, David and I will take on one of the toughest endurance challenges in the world — the Marathon des Sables in Morocco.
That’s 120 kilometres across the desert in four days.
We are doing this to raise £10,000 for the Second Chance Partnership, a charity helping men and women leaving prison into real, sustainable employment.
Many years ago, I was given a second chance.
It changed the direction of my life completely.
Now I want to make sure others are given the same opportunity.
Last April, I took part in the first-ever Marathon des Sables Namibia — 120km across the desert in four days. I finished 11th overall, alongside my teammate Graham Covington, and I was the oldest competitor in the race.
In January, I begin my second Marathon des Sables — returning to the desert, not for the challenge alone, but to help others receive the second chance that once changed my life.
Every donation supports:
• expanding employment retail training academies in prisons
• helping employers recruit safely and sustainably
• giving people a second chance through work
Please sponsor our 120km challenge.
This race will be - Endurance with a purpose.
