Story
This Valentine's Day, we're reclaiming love as an act of care and empowerment 🌹
Instead of splashing out on overpriced gifts or cards, donate to our campaign and receive a selection of our digital Care Cards. Send a token of empowerment with a loved one while helping us create a future where abuse is no longer tolerated.
Your gift funds vital education & awareness
People think teenage abuse isn't serious: that boyfriends can only be dangerous if you live together. Not true. If I hadn't got out, I don't know what might have happened.
Let's face it: it's a scary world we're living in. Our research has shown that young people exposed to misogynistic social media content (like Andrew Tate) are 5x more likely to view hurting someone as acceptable—if you say sorry afterwards.
At a time where violence against women & young people is increasingly normalised, both offline and online, our intervention work has never been more important.
The funds raised through our Care Card campaign will help keep our programmes, such as Expect Respect, running. We can keep teaching young people how to identify coercive behaviours before they escalate.
💌 For every £25 donation to this campaign (aka, the cost of a card + Valentine's Day gift), we can equip more young people with the tools they need to spot the red flags and challenge harmful attitudes.
How it works
Big or small, any donation to our campaign is welcome and vital to our work! Once your payment has processed, an email from JustGiving will automatically land in your inbox containing a link to our Care Cards. Or, you can contact us at fundraising@womensaid.org.uk. A member of our team will get back in touch to grant you access.
All you need to do is print off, write a name, and give to someone special: a pal, a family members, a partner ... anyone who deserves to feel empowered this Valentine's Day.
