Story

Sevenoaks School Foundation raises funds to enable Sevenoaks School to deliver a broad, integrated, world‑class education, an inspiring campus, and bursary support to those who need it most.

A Sevenoaks School education is a unique and life‑shaping experience. A vibrant and diverse community of talented students are taught by passionate individuals who empower them with the confidence, curiosity and skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

The challenges of our century demand leaders who embody resilience, fairness, responsibility, solidarity, and humility. To cultivate these future leaders, we must nurture today's curious minds, equipping them with the knowledge to think big and think differently.

Sevenoaks School has a proud history of widening access through bursaries. Currently, 74 pupils benefit from this support, with additional funding available for uniforms, trips, and other essentials. Bursaries do more than transform individual lives: they enrich the whole school community by fostering diversity of experience, perspective and thought.

We are committed to ensuring that equity, diversity and inclusion continue to be at the heart of our culture and community. It is a key priority for the school to significantly increase our bursary provision as we approach our 600th anniversary in 2032.

Our Headmaster, Jesse Elzinga, speaks with profound gratitude about the support he received during his formative years, which opened access to Harvard and Oxford, otherwise financially out of reach for his family. He is convinced of the transformative power of education, noting that, for him, it opened doors that he didn’t even know existed.

An inclusive school community benefits everyone. Students learn to live, work and empathise with people from many different backgrounds, gaining a deeper understanding of the world and their role within it. At Sevenoaks School, diversity is not simply valued; it is experienced daily and woven into the fabric of school life.

Your support helps us unlock the potential of students who would otherwise be unable to attend our school. In doing so, you help ensure that the School continues to serve not only academic excellence, but the wider good of society as a whole.
