NDCN exists to help people to help themselves and its vision is that communities in Bangor and the wider north of Down should be safe, peaceful, diverse, inclusive, flourishing and economically vibrant – thus making the area one in which people want to live.
To do this we act as a focal point for the community and for community and voluntary sector organisations in the north of Down. We have a town centre based Community Hub in Main Street Bangor to be able help support, serve and signpost people, always with a welcoming smile, a chat and coffee.
We deliver a range of regular services and activities in the Hub from singing, sewing, volunteering, creative writing, art, personal development programmes and even a men's shed. We react where we can when we are asked and proactively we try to identify issues where we think we can make a difference to benefit communities, this could be in the creation of a community café, support with community walkabouts, help with funding applications and much more. We presently have 149 member groups including local Community Associations, members from the Community and Voluntary Sector and also faith-based groups. We provide services to help with charity commission registration, Access NI checks and financial examination of accounts.
We are always keen to enhance our services and welcome feedback.
