SPRINT FOR SIDINGS – PARK RUN

It’s Spring and it’s time to wipe away the winter blues! Get fundraising and support your community!

Please join us on our Sprint for Sidings Park Run, come to cheer us on, and donate to our spring fundraising target of reaching £5,000.

Sidings Community Centre is a much-loved and valued community hub in the heart of West Hampstead. We support, connect and celebrate our community through a 7-day-a week programme of affordable or free activities. This ranges from our affordable nursery for 2-4 year olds, the popular Sidings Youth Project, to lots of activities for adults older people – Chantraine Dance, Yoga, Ukulele classes, choir, ESOL classes, employability workshops, and Digital skills centre. The centre also provides an accessible welcoming venue for community action meetings, events and consultation forums.

The centre offers particular support to local residents challenged by food insecurity and the Cost-of-Living crisis. Our busy West Hampstead Community Food Hub distributes food parcels to over 120 families and individuals a week, encouraging people and business to work together to ensure everyone in our community has access to healthy food. Since January 2023, our welcoming Warm Hub weekday café has provided a warm space with healthy nutritious lunches where people can share a meal, make new friends, get information and advice.

But like many community voluntary organisations, Sidings is facing challenges to continue our activities and pay the ever increasing bills.

So – some of our wonderful team of Trustees, staff and volunteers have offered to Sprint (or stride!) for Sidings at the park run on Hampstead Heath on Saturday 22nd March. We are asking people to kindly donate or join us on our run – you can even create your own Just Giving page! Let’s work together, encourage people to donate and help keep Sidings as the much needed community hub it has become.
