*Mirpur Earthquake Food Relief Appeal*

*Sadaqa and Lillah donations accepted*

A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck the region of Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday 24th September 2019. So far 38 people have lost their lives and over 500 people have been injured.

Over 500 homes have become uninhabitable and roads leading to villages outside the main city have been destroyed leaving hundreds of people stranded and unable to access food and water.

The Villages most affected by the Earthquake are: Mohra Kikri, Sang Hill, Mohra Roshan, Joriyan slums, Bang Dawara, Mughal Pura East, Mughal Pura West, Samal Sharif, Sangh, Pull Manga and surrounding areas, Afzal Pur and surrounding areas, Nagyal, Dandiyal and Bani,

Insha-Allah I will be joining the Muskorteers of KORT in Mirpur next weekend to distribute food packs to those affected by the Earthquake.

1 Food Relief Pack (includes quilts) costs £50 that will feed a family for 1 month and keep them warm during the upcoming winter.

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said: If anyone relieves a Muslim believer from one of the hardships of this worldly life, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection." Narrated by Imam Muslim (RA).
