1 in 5 children in the UK is currently struggling with their mental health. With NHS waiting lists at an all-time high, difficulties in accessing timely support are having serious consequences for young people's futures. Left unsupported, with worsening symptoms, many children and their families are left feeling isolated and confused about how to get the help they need.

Established 5 years ago, The Purple Elephant Project has been successfully delivering early mental health interventions to young children across the Boroughs of Richmond, Hounslow and beyond. Early intervention is critical for children, and we are committed to working with each child (and their entire support network), for as long as it takes to give them the confidence and coping skills to thrive. Our goal is to deliver tangible, measurable outcomes to ensure each child can reach their full potential. To find out more about what we do click here.

Thanks to the fundraising efforts of our incredible community, 2024 saw the charity deliver a record 3,900 therapy sessions and provide over 800 hours of additional support to parents and carers! We are so proud of all the young people we have helped, but there are still so many children unable to access the critical mental health care they so desperately and we are keen to extend our reach so that even more young people have the opportunity to be heard and overcome the challenges they face. Challenges that will only lead to more deep-set problems if not addressed in their early years.

This is why we need your help

How you can help

We would love you to take part in our Share the Love campaign. Not only will you be helping change young lives, but you could win a fabulous 2-night stay in a pitch side suite at the London Allianz Stadium Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, including dinner and breakfast at the Southside restaurant**. A huge thank you to the hotel for their generosity in donating this gift!

All the money you raise will go directly to providing long-term mental health support to children and their families, no matter what their financial situation.

How to participate in the competition and Share the Love!

1) Raise Money:

***Choose a fundraising activity and raise funds for us before February 28th. There are some suggestions on our website (click here). For further ideas click here or contact us to discuss ideas!

***You could plan your activities during Children’s Mental Health Week (February 3rd-9th) or on Valentine’s Day to give them extra visibility and impact!

2) Share the Love:

***Set up a JustGiving page and tell everyone why you are supporting us – include updates and photos of your fundraising activities there and/or on social media.

***Stay updated with our campaign progress on social media – follow us using the hashtags #ThePurpleElephantProject #SupportChildrensMentalHealth #ShareTheLove #ValentinesDay #MentalHealthMatters #Radisson #RadissonHotels.

3) Help us create a brighter future for children!

***Like, comment, and share on social media to enable more people to join the herd and make a difference

***And remember, the person who raises the most money will win the hotel stay above.

**We will include Gift Aid in the totals, so remind your supporters to include it where they can! You can also maximise your fundraising through match-funding, for example by asking your employer if they can match what you raise. (NB: any match-funding must be confirmed in writing by 28th February to be included in the competition totals).

***We will contact the winner directly after February 28th and announce on social media and in our newsletter.
