Every community has stories to tell. Every neighbourhood has creativity, talent and traditions waiting to be shared.

From community theatre and music groups to heritage projects, creative workshops and grassroots arts activity, culture brings people together. It creates connection, builds confidence, improves wellbeing and gives people a sense of belonging and pride in the place they call home.

The Sheffield Arts and Culture Fund has been created to make sure local creativity can thrive for generations to come.

Established and managed by South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF), the fund will provide grants to grassroots cultural projects and small arts organisations across Sheffield helping local people create, participate and experience the arts in ways that are meaningful to them.

The fund has been seeded through investment from Sheffield City Council and generous local donors, but our ambition is much bigger: to build a permanent source of funding that continues to support Sheffield’s creative communities long into the future.

Your could help a young person discover a new creative skill, bring neighbours together through a shared project, preserve local heritage, celebrate Sheffield’s diverse communities, or create a space where people feel connected and inspired.
