Every meal matters. At Shishukunj, we believe that no one in our community should go to bed hungry. In the UK today, over 14.3 million people live below the poverty line, nearly a third of them are children. The number of families turning to food banks rises every year, with some struggling to find even the most basic necessities like food, water, and shelter. Rooted in the spirit of Sewa ‘selfless service’ and inspired by the sacred Hindu tradition of ‘Anna Daan ‘(feeding the hungry), The Shishukunj Sewa Pantry provides essential food and dignity to families facing hardship.

Since launching our Food Bank programme during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve delivered groceries and hot meals to elderly and vulnerable individuals who could not access food otherwise. This grew into a wide-reaching effort in partnership with several London food banks, ensuring their shelves stay stocked with vital non perishable vegetarian staples like flour, oil, sugar, tea, canned beans, granola bars and more. Our dedicated volunteers shop and deliver directly to the food banks, making sure 100% of your donation goes directly to those in need.
