Shoebox appeal for vulnerable patients in hospital

Help us to help the vulnerable patients of Dudley to provide everyday items whilst in hospital.

The Dudley Group NHS Charity makes a real difference to those being treated in our hospitals or in their own homes. We are not about providing healthcare; charitable donations enable us to give extra comfort, equipment and facilities above and beyond those which are supplied by the NHS.

Story

We need your help!

Sometimes patients are admitted to hospital with either little or no belongings. We have launched the shoebox appeal to ensure that we give everyone an emergency pack of clothing and toiletries to make them comfortable whilst in hospital.

The donations received will provide year-round support for children up to 16 years old and our elderly patients.

We can only accept new items due to hygiene reasons. The vital items we need for our patients are:

• Socks and underwear

• Baby grows and vests

• Pyjamas

• An outfit – for young patients only

• Toiletries such as roll on deodorant, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste. NO RAZORS

• Hairbrushes/combs

• Blankets

These can also come in the form of care bags.

If you would like to donate so we can purchase these items:

• £5, would help purchase toiletries for all our patients

• £10, would help purchase socks and underwear or baby grows and vests

• £20, would help purchase a set of pyjamas

• £30, would help purchase an outfit for patients

• £60, would help purchase a package of all the above items

No one should go without the essential items.

If you would like to physically donate, you can do so by either dropping off the items directly at Russells Hall Hospital at the main entrance, between Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Please label the bag/box so it is easy for our volunteers to identify and take them to the wards.

Thank you for your generosity.
