Story
Two of the trustees of The Shoebury Ark and the supervisor are running The Great North Run in September!
They are running in aid of The Shoebury Ark, which provides over 300 people and 100 families each week with meals and food. The Shoebury Ark is non means tested foodbank, meaning that people can access it as many times as needed, and even if they dont qualify for foodbank vouchers. This is extremely important as the cost of living continues to rise.
The Shoebury Ark also sells low cost children's clothing, including school uniform to allow children to fit in with their peers despite the hardships they are going through. We work alongside fuel bank and other agencies to provide a multicfaceted approach to meeting the needs of our community.
We rely on the donations of food, clothing and monetary gifts to provide this essential service to our community, without which over 300 people would be left without food each week.
This is why three of our volunteers are running to ensure The Shoebury Ark can continue to provide these basic items to the people of Shoebury.
