Story

A Match for James

James Walker is a former Southend United footballer, who played for the club from 2008-10.

A semi-professional player with Tilbury FC in 2019, James suffered a massive cardiac arrest that February, resulting in physical and mental impairments. Though now able to walk and move about, he cannot look after himself, living in a 24-hour care home in Southend. It has been identified that James would benefit from additional therapies, & this campaign aims to raise funds to help with that cost. James is just 35.

On Sunday 28 May 2023 Southend United Ex Players Association (SUEPA), part of The Shrimpers Trust, is putting on a legends benefit match to raise funds for James. Further details can be found at

https://www.shrimperstrust.co.uk/suepa/a-match-for-james/

with regular updates on SUEPAs Facebook and Twitter pages.

If you are unable to attend the match on 28 May, please consider a donation via this page. All monies raised will be used by the Shrimpers Trust to obtain the therapies James so badly needs.

Thank you.
