The Sidmouth Folk Festival is a national cultural treasure. It has been presenting the very best in folk music, dance and song during the first week in August since 1955 in this stunning East Devon seaside resort.

The festival’s diverse programme of events takes place throughout the town, from dance displays on the Esplanade to concerts featuring major artists at the Ham Marquee, from learning new skills in workshops to high-energy Big Nights Out at Bulverton. There are events for children, teenagers and families, as well as dances, ceilidhs and a craft fair.

The costs of staging the festival are ever rising. All donations to help fund the 2023 festival and ensure its future are most welcome.

This campaign page is an alternative way of making donations linked to the street collections, the informal events around the town and the programme of events in the Blackmore Gardens. If you are not able to join us in Sidmouth this year, please consider a donation to help with future festivals.

Sidmouth FolkWeek Ltd, a registered charity, is focused on the long-term success of The Sidmouth Folk Festival. It administers the festival’s street collections, with Gift Aid benefits, which this year will support the workshop and participation programme at the festival. There is also a Friends Scheme, a Legacies Campaign and a Grand Draw with a top prize of £1,000.
