Story
Sight Life is hosting an exciting spin cycle fundraising challenge at St David’s Shopping Centre in Cardiff on Wednesday 13 May 2026.
Six company teams will take part in this high‑energy endurance challenge, competing against the clock (and each other!) to make a real difference.
🚴 The Challenge
- Format: 6 Spin Bikes and 6 Teams, each tag-teaming on their bike to maintain momentum, rack up the kilometers and beat the rest.
- Teams goal: Ride 150 km in 6 hours
- Overall ambition: Ride a collective 900 km in 6 hours
This challenge isn’t just about fitness—it’s about teamwork, determination, and supporting Sight Life’s vital work helping people living with sight loss.

About Sight Life:
Sight Life will use the funds raised to outreach to the ever-increasing number of people with sight loss in South Wales.
The World Health Organisation predicts sight loss will double by 2050. People with sight loss are twice as likely to experience unhappiness or depression, and only 35% report good life satisfaction compared to the UK average of 58%.
Formerly Cardiff Institute for the Blind, Sight Life is one of Wales’ oldest charities. We support blind and partially sighted people across South Wales—Cardiff, Swansea, and Rhondda Cynon Taf—through our Cardiff Activity and Resource Centre, home visits, community groups, and 1:1 sessions.
Our Impact:
We work with 4,000 members each year. In a recent survey:
- 90% felt less isolated
- 80% felt more independent
- 74% were more active and healthier
Our 14 skilled staff help people live the lives they want, offering digital support, daily living advice, and access to arts, sports, and social activities—at every stage of their sight loss journey.
The value of your donation
