Story

Welcome to our brilliant marathon team!

Why we need your help?

We are all raising money for SignHealth because we believe in their mission of improving the health and well-being of Deaf people. SignHealth has been supporting the Deaf community for over 35 years and provides these fantastic BSL (British Sign Language) services:

- Psychological Therapies : We run the UKs only IAPT-approved BSL counselling service. As Deaf people are twice as likely than hearing people to experience mental health difficulties, this is a crucial service for the Deaf community.

- Domestic Abuse Service : Our service helps Deaf women and children who are suffering domestic violence. The service is run by Deaf women and gives help and advice on how to be safe and where to find refuge. We are the UKs only Deaf domestic abuse service and currently work in London, Kent and Sussex and we hope to expand our service to reach more Deaf people suffering domestic violence.

- Social Care : We run six care homes across the UK for Deaf people with complex and long-term mental health problems, and is how SignHealth first began. All the residents and staff are sign language users, which helps to end the isolation which is a major cause of mental health problems for Deaf people.

Please consider supporting our team by donating to one of our marathon runners. Every penny donated helps ensure that SignHealths work providing vital services to the Deaf community can continue.

Thank you!
