Silent No More - Help Us Break The Barriers!

Organised by deafPLUS/visionPLUS

Help us build a brighter future for the deaf and visually impaired communities. Over 800,000 are severely deaf, facing daily challenges. Donate today and support deafPLUS in breaking barriers and making a positive difference.

deafPLUS is a charity dedicated to enabling deaf, hard of hearing and visually impaired people to get the most out of life. We believe passionately that whatever our ability to hear or see we all have the same desire to communicate, stay safe and participate in society.

Story

Imagine waking up every day in silence.

Now imagine living in a world where every interaction feels like you’re in a foreign country unable to understand, communicate, or ask for help. A world where vital resources to support your independence simply don’t exist.

This is the daily reality for over 87,000 British Sign Language (BSL) users and 800,000 severely or profoundly deaf individuals in the UK.

Deaf people deserve more. By donating...

£5: This covers the cost of a 15-minute advice session. Your contribution will help us run monthly advice hubs and ensure BSL interpreters are available at every session for face-to-face support, navigating services, filling out forms, and understanding their rights.

£25: Funds one Wellbeing event with a Wellbeing Officer for 10 participants. Loneliness and isolation are endemic in the deaf community. Your contribution will fund Wellbeing Walks and social events, fostering connection and improving mental health.

£50: Supports one individual in accessing information and receiving support in making independent decisions. Many deaf people are unemployed due to inaccessible job centers and employer biases. Your donation will help us provide employment workshops and 1:1 career coaching with interpreters.

💛 Together, we can break language barriers and build a more inclusive world for deaf people!
