Story
Every year SARSVL offers specialist life-changing and life-saving support services to survivors of sexual violence in Leeds. Last year alone, we supported over 1700 individuals through our specialist advocacy, counselling, helpline and outreach work, creating holistic and specialist healing spaces for survivors. Every year demand for our services increases alongside the cost of running these life-changing services.
That's why a group of our staff and volunteers will be singing non-stop from 12pm to 12am on Saturday 10th October to raise vital funds for SARSVL services. We will be tag-teaming 12 hours of singing, raising our voices to support survivors in our city.
We've never attempted such a daring musical feat before and we're looking for your sponsorship donations to keep us going throughout the evening and night.
We have estimated we may have to sing a whopping 250 songs throughout the day and evening. Each song sung, every minute passed is an opportunity for you to donate to our specialist services.
The service has helped me more than you will ever know. The group sessions I had before one to one counselling were so valuable. It was nice to be among people who unfortunately had something in common. It made me feel less alone. I truly hope that the service can continue to be what it is and a lot more."
“The support I have received from my ISVA has helped me in all aspects of life. She has helped me to understand so much and supported every emotion I have felt while going through the process. Her working with me has meant so much and I’m not sure I would have been able to face certain things without her support.”
“SARSVL helped me integrate trauma tools into my life and feel safer in my body again.”
