Story
THE MILL LUM BASE at Herdmans Mill
The former Maintenance Block in Herdmans Mill, Sion Mills, Co. Tyrone is a 1200 m² (12,000 ft.²) building, listed B+. Owned by Sion Mills BPT, and divided into 7 units in sizes from 2000 ft.² to 800 ft.², the building lies at the base of the mill chimney or the Lum as it is known locally. Sion Mills is a model village founded in 1835, with Herdmans large flax spinning mill at its heart and a beautiful setting on the river Mourne. Now our building, with your sponsorship, is to be restored as a Community Hub by Sion Mills BPT in partnership with Sion Mills Community Forum with space for:
A Youth Centre/Games Room; A Conference Centre/Catering Facilities; Library/The Herdman Archives/Research Facilities; Fitness Suite; Serviced Office Space; Exhibition Space/Gallery/Gift Shop; Angling Academy; Drop-In/Day Centre/Citizens Advice/Coffee Shop; Rentable Space; Wheelchair access throughout.
WE APPEAL TO THE COMMUNITY AND RELATIVES & FRIENDS AND ALL THOSE WITH SION MILLS CONNECTIONS TO HELP US RAISE £40,000 IN ONE WEEK....IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE! Please help us achieve the Lum Base hub for the people of Sion by sponsoring the restoration now. And tell others there is no time to waste.
