In tribute to our late Chancellor Professor Emeritus Sir Geoff Palmer KT OBE, one of the most revered figures in Heriot-Watt University’s history, we are proud to announce the creation of this scholarship.

Sir Geoff’s extraordinary legacy, as a pioneering scientist, tireless human rights advocate, and deeply inspirational leader, has left an indelible imprint on our University and the wider world. His life was a testament to courage, compassion, and the transformative power of education. His unwavering commitment to justice and equality continues to ignite hearts and minds across generations.

The Sir Geoff Palmer Memorial Scholarship will support students of Jamaican descent or Jamaican citizenship to follow in his footsteps; breaking barriers, pursuing excellence, and shaping a fairer future.
