The Smile Children's Charity Village and Smile Academy is in Uganda and provides a home for around 40 orphaned children, and a place of learning for 50 local young people. Most of these children and young people are refugees from South Sudan and have found long term safety and security through Smile Village and Academy. This year 50 young people will be trained in tailoring and hairdressing and will graduate in the spring of 2024. They will then be supported as they set up small businesses in the community to support themselves and to grow the local economy. This is one of many projects undertaken by Projects Delivering Hope which is a UK charity founded in 2017 to support South Sudanese with short term projects thta give long term benefit.
