Story
Working together, the SLGGS music department and Canterbury Vocals aim to encourage as many people as possible to discover the joy and multiple benefits of music. It is this passion for sharing the joy of music, along with a firm belief in the creative potential in every individual which guides and motivates what we do.
The Scholarship Fund aims to provide financial support for young female musicians from the Canterbury area. The 2018-2019 awards were made in August and we are very happy to confirm that six applicants were successful and have received support for a range of activities. We are looking to build on this in 2019-2020 through various ways of raising funds from concerts and events, but this is something very special. Two of our seven choirs at Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School will join together and be giving concerts at FIVE different Cathedrals in ONE DAY to raise money for this worthwhile cause.
On Wednesday 5th February the joint choir will be touring the South of England by Coach, using the London Underground and by foot to meet the concert timings at Canterbury Cathedral, Guildford Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral, St Georges Cathedral and Rochester Cathedral - what a day!!
Please help us by donating to this worthwhile cause and help raise money for The Canterbury Vocals Scholarship Fund and SLGGS Music Department.
