Take a look at Amy's story which shows what can be achieved when we bolster a child's well-being.
COVID-19 has challenged us all. It has and will continue to
affect the way we live, the way we operate and how we care for others. As we enter the recovery, many more children will need our support.
When a society is hit by such an impactful force - the short-term crisis often brings people together, but when the dust settles, individuals and families have to rebuild their lives and the reality begins to hit.
For children this is about 100 times worse as a young person's ability to take control of a situation is severely limited.
Whilst society, communities and families try and find a new normal against a backdrop of unemployment, strained relationships, financial worries, social uncertainty and caring for the elderly, we are asking you to spare a thought for the children of Swindon.
Everything they knew a few weeks ago has changed. If you feel confused and unclear as an adult, imagine how a child must be feeling.
Communities and families are key in supporting the well-being of a child but right now their priorities will be taken over by simply trying to keep everyone safe and fed.
If a child's motivation suffers it can have long term effects. The core of well-being is self-esteem, confidence and a sense of meaning. Without these, a child's motivation and ability to make constructive decisions is severely impaired and we know as adults, one bad decision often follows another.
We owe it to the children of Swindon to step in, help make sense of their worlds and support the communities and families to give the next generation the opportunity to grow with the changes and not get left behind.
We are looking to raise money to secure new programmes that can be designed and delivered to re-build children's lives.
They need us, we need you.
