Join Us in Supporting Mining Communities: SMO Foundation Golden Gala

On June 26, 2025, the SMO Foundation will host the Golden Gala at the iconic Natural History Museum, celebrating the launch of our mission to support mining communities worldwide. This event is an opportunity to make a lasting impact, not only by attending but by contributing to the incredible work of our charity partners, who are at the forefront of social, environmental, and healthcare initiatives in mining regions.

Our partners, Critical Care International (CCI), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and Leadership for Conservation in Africa (LCA), are tackling some of the most pressing issues faced by mining communities today. These organizations are working tirelessly to ensure that the positive impacts of responsible mining extend beyond the mines themselves, addressing crucial areas like healthcare access, biodiversity conservation, and community empowerment.

Critical Care International (CCI) is providing life-saving healthcare programs in West Africa, focusing on malaria control, maternal health, and child care, with a special emphasis on skill-building for local healthcare workers. Learn more about CCI's impact here.

IUCN, one of the world’s oldest and most respected environmental organizations, is dedicated to safeguarding biodiversity and promoting sustainable land management practices in mining-affected regions. Their projects are designed to mitigate the environmental impacts of mining while promoting sustainability. Explore IUCN’s mission here.

Leadership for Conservation in Africa (LCA) works closely with local governments and communities to protect Africa’s most valuable ecosystems. Their focus includes national park rehabilitation, anti-poaching efforts, and enhancing water quality monitoring in areas impacted by mining. Find out more about LCA's efforts here.

By supporting this campaign, you are directly contributing to these initiatives and helping to create a more sustainable and equitable future for mining communities. Your donation enables us to fund critical projects that make a tangible difference. Together, we can ensure that responsible mining not only brings economic benefits but also leads to positive social and environmental change.

We invite you to be part of this transformative journey. Please donate today and help us build a brighter, more sustainable future. Join us at the Golden Gala, and let’s celebrate the power of responsible mining and the change it can create.
