Story

GAZA EMERGENCY APPEAL

More than 200 including 61 children and 36 women have been killed and more than 1,400 have been injured and the numbers are rising daily in Gaza, Palestine.

The escalation in violence could not have come at a worse time as the Gaza Strip is already grappling with a weak healthcare system and a lack of medical resources.

Hundreds of sites in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed by Israeli airstrikes, including residential buildings, water and electricity infrastructure, and medical facilities.

The Hala Al Shawwa primary health centre has been destroyed, which provides COVID-19 testing and vaccinations. Israeli airstrikes targeted roads to two main hospitals in Gaza, restricting access for emergency services, as well as causing indirect damage to two other healthcare facilities.

The North Gaza Seawater Desalination Plant has halted operations due to damage and risk to staff, affecting the availability of water for over 250,000 people. Fuel supplies in Gaza are set to run out within days, endangering electricity supply to hospitals, homes, and other essential infrastructure.

The main electricity feeder to the region has also been damaged, affecting 65% of Gazas water and sanitation facilities.

In Gaza, there is an acute water crisis. Over 90% of households have a tap where clean water once flowed, but today the water is no longer safe to drink.

Gaza needs regular safe and clean water supplies urgently not only for the domestic needs of families but to run the health facilities too.

According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), more than 38,000 people are now displaced, with 2,500 made homeless by the destruction of their homes. PCRS warehouses, housing vital medical equipment, have also been damaged by Israeli attacks.

Save The Mothers Trust has established partners working right now on the ground in Gaza. Our partners on the ground are working tirelessly with hospitals for the provision of medical supplies and emergency aid.

In addition, emergency food packs are being distributed to needy families and vulnerable children, orphans, and families are being fully supported through regular sponsorship.

The Palestinians need you more than ever before.
