Disability Snowsport UK’s vision is of mountains and ski slopes free from barriers. It's our mission to make snowsport accessible for everyone; regardless of disability, injury or experience.

Story

Join DSUK for the first national Snow-a-thon and test your team skills against the length of the highest mountains in the world!

Gather the team of 4 of your favourite skiers/snowboarders/sit skiers to join a national Snow-a-thon and contribute to reaching the highest peaks! Compete against other indoor slopes to see which centre can get the highest!

Each team will be given 30 minutes to ski down a slope while our team will measure the total distance against some of the key peaks around the world! Total length achieved by each team will be added to the slope total, so we can see who went the highest! There is a special award for the team that reaches highest peak within their 30 minutes!

We kindly ask our teams to raise a fundraising target of £500, to help DSUK tackle impacts of the pandemic and continue delivering adaptive snowsports in the UK and abroad. Your registration fee of £40 will count towards your fundraising target.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on all our lives. Disabled people, who routinely experience problems of access in everyday life, have faced even greater challenges than most. The loss of local services together with extended periods of isolation have taken their toll on physical and mental health. Skiing and snowboarding is helping people rebuild fitness, wellbeing and confidence.

Disability Snowsport UK's dream is of mountains and slopes free from barriers, where disabled people can learn and take part with family and friends and peers. We work to remove barriers so that snowsport is accessible for everyone; regardless of disability, injury or experience.

This event is available for non-adaptive and adaptive skiers and for all levels of ability. Less experienced skiers will be able to use smaller slope.
