Take on Snowdon and be rewarded with an epic view from the summit of Wales’ highest mountain. The Rhyd Ddu path is one of the quieter routes up Snowdon, offering a unique perspective compared to the more popular Llanberis, Pyg, or Miners tracks. Expect a full day on the mountain with some steep ascents. This unique journey offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle, providing moments of tranquility and awe.
Younger People with Dementia, also known as YPWD, is a registered charity operating in Southeast England. Our aim is to support people diagnosed with young onset dementia under the age of 65 by providing meaningful and age-appropriate services, whilst delivering support services for family members and loved ones.
Our main service is to provide activity-based workshops for people living with young onset dementia throughout the working week so that nobody feels isolated or alone. Examples of the age-appropriate activities we’ve delivered have included archery, cooking, climbing, equine therapy, and katakanuing. Our specialist team of support workers ensure there is a safe, fun and educational environment at each session, improving self-esteem, mood and cognition for participants.
Alongside running our daily workshops, one-to-one support and micro groups, we also deliver children’s groups, social events education & training and carer support.
YPWD is one of only a few dedicated services to this age group living with dementia in the United Kingdom.
