Together with local partners and country offices, we’re working in the world’s poorest countries to tackle the root causes of poverty and respond in emergencies, disasters and conflicts.

Story

Tens of thousands of people in Türkiye and Syria have so far been killed after two massive earthquakes struck on February 6 2023. The quake is the biggest the region has seen in 100 years and has caused widespread destruction.

Thousands have been injured and whole areas have been reduced to rubble. The aftershocks will continue for months, adding to the initial destruction. Millions of people have been forced to shelter in tents or out in the open.

Heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures in many of the affected regions means our teams in Türkiye and Syria are in a race against time to reach the survivors with urgent relief, including hot meals, winter blankets and sleeping bags.

We are also constructing family container homes in Hatay, one of the worst hit provinces of Türkiye, and running a mega bread factory serving 50,000 fresh loaves a day in Afrin, the second worst impacted area of Syria.

Give your Sadaqah and Zakat now to provide lifesaving essentials to our brothers and sisters in Türkiye and Syria.
