Story

School of Hard Knocks exists to empower and support individuals facing social inequality and enables meaningful change in participants lives. We want to create a society in which everyone is given the opportunity to realise and fulfil their potential, regardless of where they come from or what they have been through. It is through our supporters taking up these types of challenge events that we are able to continue to run life-changing courses and programmes for both adults and children.

Since the lockdown, we have adapted in many new ways as we were no longer able to support our beneficiaries in-person. With the team pulling together, we have since supported over 100 people and helped them become work ready. It has been a challenge but now more than ever, we have seen the community spirit in the work we do. With our dedicated team, we have carried out programs such as Back in the Game to support individuals who lost their jobs during COVID-19.

Whilst the work that SOHK does has positively impacted so many, the pandemic has left countless more individuals and families struggling with employment and schooling and the long-term effect only set to get worse..

In an effort to tackle these ongoing challenges, the money raised from LEJOG will be used to support and expand our services in our Adult Courses and our School Programmes. It will provide necessary programs and relief to so many of our beneficiaries.

Your support will help us achieve so much more and allow us to make this our best fundraiser yet!

About the charity

School of Hard Knocks runs courses that use sport to tackle issues surrounding unemployment, antisocial behaviour, crime and health. We teach responsibility, motivation, teamwork, respect and discipline - all of which allow individuals to take responsibility for their actions and context.
