Funding Neuro have committed to fund a Queen Mary Hospital, London trial to provide liquid biopsy for people with Glioblastoma (GBM) using Focused Ultrasound (FUS).

Funding Neuro wants to help expand this incredible FUS technology to help treat peope with GBM.

We are therefore also assisting CureGBM to fund and deliver a clinical trial in which FUS activates a drug (ALA) that selectively accumulates in cancer cells and kills them whilst leaving normal brain unharmed:Sonodynamic Therapy (“SDT”).

In early US clinical trials, no patient has suffered any side effect & ‘overall survival’ for adults with recurrent GBM and children with DIPG has doubled, without the need for invasive and costly surgery.

CureGBM is working with Prof Philippe Schucht, a reknowned neuro-oncology Professor of Neurosurgery in Switzerland, to deliver an innovative GBM trial using SDT. Patients from the UK will be eligible for treatment with the vision that there will be similar trial centres in the UK in due course.
