Story
We need your help. Right now, vital orangutan conservation action is at a standstill.
Our frontline partner TaHuKah is facing a crisis. Both of their vehicles have broken down beyond repair. Without them, the team simply cannot reach the forests and communities where their work is needed most. Essential forest patrols and community conservation work have ground to a halt.
We urgently need to raise £26,563 so TaHuKah can get back out to the rainforest and help protect wild orangutans.
This will cover the cost of two replacement vehicles robust enough to handle Sumatra’s challenging terrain plus the insurance and equipment required to get the team safely back on the road.
The orangutans of Sumatra are critically endangered with fewer than 14,000 individuals remaining in fragmented areas of forest.
Every day without vehicles puts orangutans and their habitat at greater risk. That’s why we’re turning to you.
Your gift today will help restart vital patrols, reforestation, and community outreach – the very heart of what SOS and TaHuKah do together.
Donate today and help protect wild orangutans and their rainforest homes.
