Soul Kitchen Chester was conceived in 2015 by a group of friends who wanted to help those who were homeless in Chester, and started life as a Drop In provision at the Mecca Bingo Roundabout ( aka Magic Roundabout) where volunteers gave out food, clothing and toiletries every Saturday evening. More volunteers joined and more people came along for food – whatever the weather!

After a couple of years, the need for food and friendship greater than ever, the opportunity to move indoors to Campbell Community Hall in Boughton arose and as well offering an escape from the elements it came complete with a kitchen, pool table, toilets, & a shower. This is now the base for Soul Kitchen's weekly Drop In where an increasing number of hot meals, clothing and toiletries are provided. The Drop In provides the perfect opportunity for our team to develop relationships and trust with those that attend, which in turn enables us to offer and signpost the required support.

We also offer cookery sessions in both Chester and Ellesmere Port where we build self esteem, confidence and skills in teamwork, numeracy and cookery.

Our Drop In operates every Saturday night and the highlight of the year is a full Christmas dinner with turkey and all the trimmings, complete with fairy lights and gifts. Our Christmas support also extends to providing Christmas meals to over 150 people in temporary hotel/hostel accommodation, and Christmas Hampers to families that maybe struggling.

We are a small organisation, run entirely by volunteers, so 100% of your donation will go directly to help people in need this Christmas.
