Story
The Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside would like to express our huge thanks to everyone who has made a donation to the Southport Strong Together Appeal. With your help, and in partnership with two other appeal funds, we have been able to distribute over £837,000 to support the victims and the wider local community in Southport. This includes over £646,000 in charitable gifts to the families of the all the children and adults affected as well as £191,000 to support the schools of the children and local charities in Southport offering community support.
Whilst the Southport Strong Together Appeal is now no longer receiving donations directly, we would encourage anyone who wishes to make a donation to consider Alice's Wonderdance Foundation, Bebe's Hive CIC and Elsie's Story Charitable Trust, as the charitable causes established in the loving memory and legacy of the three girls who were lost in the most tragic circumstances during the Southport attack.

The Community Foundation for Merseyside, Sefton Council and Sefton Council for Voluntary Service - CVS offer their sincere thanks to the people, businesses and organisations who have donated to the Southport Strong Together Appeal and helped raise over £350,000 to support the families and community. Your kindness will make a difference. 💜
The Community Foundation for Merseyside, in partnership with Sefton Council and Sefton CVS, has established the Southport Strong Together Appeal.
The Appeal was set up the day after the tragic events of July 29th and we are overwhelmed with the response locally, nationally and internationally.
Guided by a range of partners including the National Emergencies Trust, Fundraising Regulator and The Charity Commission, we have already allocated and made funds available from this Appeal to the families directly affected by the tragedy. Further allocations will be made in the coming weeks.
The money donated to this Appeal in the first instance will prioritise:
• Individuals experiencing bereavement and or serious injury who were directly impacted by the events on 29th July 2024.
• Individuals experiencing immediate hardship and psychological injury directly impacted by the events on 29th July 2024.
• Community relief through local, regional and/or national charities
Secondly the fund will offer help to community organisations working in Southport which can be provided for a range of charitable purposes. The following are examples of the sorts of activities the Appeal may fund:
• Community organisations offering additional support such as emotional wellbeing, mental health and bereavement support.
• Community response coordination.
• Support for community organisations working to deliver community cohesion and violence prevention initiatives.
