Our service at Dock House give beds for the night to up to 24 homeless people. During the day we have many people drop in to use our laundry facilities and showers. The thing that we get asked for most is a fresh pair of socks for their often weary feet!

We see people who aren't ready to take a bed, and only want the comfort of being clean. A small thing for some of us, but a big thing for them.

For our SOX APPEAL we will be asking local schools and businesses to display our posters and collect socks for us to give out to those who need them but if you want to help in another way, you can donate just £2 for a pair of socks.

The SOX APPEAL started as a simple idea.....a regular service user came to us for an emergency bed for the evening, with sore feet covered in blisters. Staff provided hot water to soak his feet and then watched as another homeless person took his socks off and passed them to his friend.
