Story
The new Sports Performance Center is a 10,000 square foot, state-of-the-art, stand-alone, donor-funded facility that will more than triple the size of the existing weight room in Butler-Hancock. In addition to the expanded space, new training equipment will provide a first-class experience for our nearly 400 Bear student-athletes.
UNC plans to break ground on the Sports Performance Center which will be located on the south side of Butler-Hancock in the spring with $3.75 million currently raised towards the $4 million total project cost, and a completion goal of Fall 2021.
Because of the generosity of Bank of Colorado, the 1:1 gift match allows those who are interested in supporting the Sports Performance Center to double their impact. We are thankful to all who have shown their commitment and donated to the project, but we aren't there yet and need others to assist us in reaching our goal. Please consider taking advantage of the Bank of Colorado gift match during Giving Bearnanza and make a difference for UNC student-athletes. Darren Dunn, Director of Athletics
