Story
For small charities like Spirit Aid, Covid has seen a huge increase in demand for the services we provide while also seeing our ability to fund raise wiped out.
During the first lockdown we started to deliver food parcels on a weekly basis to the most vulnerable within our community across central Scotland. This had a massive impact on our resources and it is only due to the kindness and generosity of those who support our work that we were able to do this.
With the second lockdown it has only intensified. An insufficient response from government and agencies like the DWP have pushed many into debt and poverty for the first time in their lives. For those already struggling financially this has compounded their situation. For those who are homeless, they have seen shelter closed due to Covid making their hardship all the more intolerable.
We can't as a society, a community, sit back and watch this happen. We have increased our food parcel deliveries but without funding/money we simply can't continue. We need your help, more specifically your donations. Over 90% of every penny you donate will go towards buying food. It will go towards buying nappies and baby formula. It will go towards buying toiletries and sanitary products. It will go towards making a difference.
Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference.
