Belron has been supporting Afrika Tikkun for over 20 years, raising funds through the Spirit of Belron Challenge. In that time, we have raised €18 million, and this funding has helped to transform thousands of lives of young people in South Africa.
From 17th to 24th September, we will once again be running our popular Spirit of Belron Challenge. During the 8 days, thousands of our colleagues, their families and friends, our business partners and suppliers will be swimming, cycling, running and walking as we virtually travel around the world as many times as possible. In 2021, we collectively travelled 167,090km, involving over 8,100 people across the globe and raising €2.3 million for Afrika Tikkun.
On 24th September, after a two-year break due to the pandemic we are getting together at Dorney Lake, UK to take part in triathlons, duathlon, half-marathon and team relay marathon whilst also raising funds for Afrika Tikkun.
So you can get involved wherever you are! Everyone can make a difference!
Every donation makes an impact. In addition to Afrika Tikkun's core educational social and health services, this year they are focusing on food security and digitisation within the township communities in which they work. Here is how your donations could help:
€5 provides enough data for a young learner to participate in online learning for a week.
€10 allows the purchase of a bag of seeds, a pair of work boots, a sunhat and work overalls for learners taking part in the Agripreneurship programme
€22 can provide early childhood learners with a school backpack and stationery pack for the year.
€50 allows 1 young person to complete the Youth Accelerator Programme (YAP) over a 4-month period.
€100 provides 1-week of transport for the Elderly to Afrika Tikkun's Alexandra Centre.
