ActionAid works with courageous women and girls who are championing change, challenging inequality, and leading their communities towards a more equal, fair, and just future. We back the women’s rights organisations they lead and take action to challenge harmful societal norms and unfair systems.

Story

ActionAid has teamed up with WUKA to end period poverty and demand period justice, working towards a world where menstruation is treated with dignity and equality.

The funds and awareness you are helping raise will make a huge difference to our work that is sadly, sorely needed.

Did you know:

Women are 134 years away from achieving equality with men

1 in 3 women still experience violence in their lifetimes

Half a billion women and girls around the world are still denied what they need to manage their periods safely

While these stats are a stark reminder of how patriarchy impacts women’s lives and how much work there is to be done, I hope this shows you the importance of what you are doing. You are helping turn the tide for women’s rights with every lap, metre, and kilometre you swim.

We’re challenging you to swim 10km in one month while raising funds for ActionAid’s work with women and girls. If you raise £150, you’ll be entered into a raffle to win a free WUKA swimsuit!

Any stroke, any place, any pace – however you choose to reach 10km, please be assured that your support will have a real impact, as you raise vital funds and awareness.
