Story
Dingwall Gaelic Choir (Coisir Ghàidhlig Inbhir Pheofharain) is an award-winning choir that was formed in 1954. We meet once or twice a week throughout the year to learn and practise traditional Gaelic songs, which we sing a Capella (without instruments).
The biggest event in our calendar is the Royal National Mod, which is held in October every year, and is being hosted in 2023 in Paisley. We compete against other Gaelic choirs from around the country, as well as some who travel internationally. This year we have joined with our friends from Inverness Gaelic Choir and will be competing together under the name Eadarainn (which means 'between us'). It has been a joy to be able to share our love of Gaelic singing together, and has been a real encouragement to both choirs.
There are substantial costs involved with participating in the National Mod, and so we regularly run fundraisers to help out. On June 24th we will be doing a sponsored walk from Kilearnan Church to North Kessock and back again - a distance of over 10 miles! Any donation, however small, will be greatly appreciated.
