QEHS Rowing Club challenge to Row 500km in a 3-hour session

The QEHS Rowing Club challenge to Row 500km in a 3-hour session on Saturday 5 September to raise funds for the club

Closes 30/09/2026

Queen Elizabeth High School rowing club has operated since the 1980s. The club has enjoyed success on the national and international stage, boasting Olympians amongst the club alumni. The rowing club is entirely self-funded relying on goodwill of donors to enable our crew to train and compete.

Story

QEHS Rowing Club is more than a sports team — it's a community. Self-financed and open to every student at QEHS, we welcome complete beginners rowing for their health and wellbeing right alongside athletes who compete at national level and for their country.

That's the magic of rowing: it meets people exactly where they are, and then it takes them further than they ever expected to go.

But talent and dedication can only take our rowers so far without the right equipment. Our club is growing fast, and we urgently need a new boat — at a cost of £16,000 — to keep pace with demand and keep giving every student the chance to discover what they're capable of.

This isn't a school-funded programme. Every boat, every oar, every opportunity exists because people like you choose to invest in it.

Your donation — whatever size — helps a state school club punch above its weight, keeps rowing accessible to all, and could be the reason a young athlete gets their shot at national or international competition.

Please give generously today and help us reach the water.
